A lot is said for festival outfits and whether you go for cute (but easily leak-able) wellies or the reliable Hunters - but what do you actually need to pack for festival season?

Forget glitter kits and toe rings, we're talking the best tent to stop you sleeping in a puddle of mud two days deep into the festival and the neatest gadgets for making sure you get your beauty sleep.

We’ve put together your go-to shopping list of everything you need to save the day when you’re face-down, hungover in the middle of a field at 3am on a Sunday morning!

festival essentials

A bin bag

The pillar of all good festival survival kits. The trusty bin bag can act as a poncho for the rain, a pillow to rest your sleepy (and drunken) head, and a place to sit while you wait for your favourite act of the day to finally emerge from their dressing room.

Baby wipes

Need a shower? Run out of loo roll? Fancy cleaning last night’s mud off your favourite boots? Want to get rid of the glitter that’s been stuck to your eyelid since 9am on Friday? Baby wipes are the festival-goer's answer to any sticky situation.

Earplugs

If you’re looking to actually get some kip during the long summer festival nights, earplugs are an absolute must-have. Block out all the late night noise and avoid those ridiculous neighbours that wake the whole campsite at 8am blasting music from their portable speaker.

Vitamins

5HTP is a natural serotonin booster which is known to help with sleep and hangovers. Berocca is also a staple with serial festival-goers. Head to Holland & Barrett or Boots, and prep your body for the inevitable rollercoaster ride that is the festival all-weekender.

Portable phone charger

We all know that stomach-churning feeling that consumes your entire being when your phone dies, and imagine losing touch with the outside world 500-people deep into a festival crowd. No thanks. Make sure to invest in a decent phone charger that you can keep on you at all times.

Sandwich bags

Small, sealable plastic bags can keep your electronics dry, act as a safe haven for your favourite jewellery, and stop you from losing or dropping your precious morning-after-breakfast cash stash. They’ll possibly…literally, save your life.

Water bottle

Staying hydrated during hours of wild dancing, drinking and sweating is imperative. It’s no fun missing the headline act because you’ve passed out from dehydration… embarrassing too. Avoid all mishaps by bringing bottled water with you, and carrying a refillable water bottle to keep on you at all times.

Snacks

Unfortunately, festival food is neither the most nutritious nor cheap. Plan ahead by stuffing plenty of granola bars, nuts, crisps and some dried fruit in your rucksack. They’ll be perfect for a late-night nibble and your saviour when morning comes around.

Tent fortification

Investing in a decent tent is critical, particularly if you’re hopping around from festival to festival this summer. However, it’s also good to be prepared with some extra support. Spare guide ropes, pegs, and even a small bit of tarp can stop your safe haven from turning into a muddy sink-hole.

Dungarees

Imagine: endless amounts of pockets for drunkenly stashing your phone and cash, ample space underneath for light layers or a rain coat, the flexibility of rolling up the legs to catch sun or tucking them into your wellies to stay warm, the dirtier they get the cooler you look, and SUPER comfortable. Need I say more?

So if you're off to a festival start getting prepared, and when it's all over and you're looking for where to store all the things you bought then consider storing with Access Box Storage, where we collect, store and deliver back! Get started!

Famed for its live music scene, the Bedford has played host to seminal gigs for big music acts such as Ed Sheeran, The Clash and U2. If you fancy a bite then there are some restaurants that might suit your tastes from French to Italian food so there will be something that may interest you into trying something new.

Looking up at trees with a sunny blue sky

Wandsworth Common

After having a refreshing dip in Tooting Lido you might want to take a stroll in Wandsworth Common, watch the sun set or have a picnic depending on what time you arrive. There are some pond areas with their usual customers i.e. ducks, geese and swans, so you could spend some time feeding the ducks. It is a great area also for sports activities such as cycling or jogging so there is lots to do.

To make space for all those purchases made on Balham High Street, why not use self-storage?

Who would be a student today hey? Latest figures show that the average student debt – under the £9,000 fees regime – amounts to £46,884. (BBC News - January 2020)

That’s one hefty price tag! Along with the studying, you also find yourself working part-time hours at your local pub just to help you make ends meet - many a pint has been pulled throughout history to fuel this student-economic existence.

student writing in exercise book.

How many course books have been paid for this way? Or, as some may imply, how many pints has this bought in said pub? These are obviously other people’s presumptions, and not our own - obviously. Then there is the gruelling regime of the studying itself, and the invigorating supplements taken to aid you through this testing period.

Three days to complete and submit a 10,000 word dissertation? Sure, no problem. Pass me the 12 cans of Red Bull, one and a half packs of Pro Plus and 20 cups of coffee and I’ll be on my way. And on top of all of this, when students make their merry way to university it is often the first time they have spent any time away from the family home - mother’s cooking has never been missed so much. And, records are set for the longest you can survive without washing your pants. Substandard food and crusty pants would be enough to test the best of us.

So, when that iconic bell rings out for the end of term, it is little surprise that the main focus for students is on having fun and leaving the last term behind them. However, this is where the practicality of life kicks in and the taxi rank of Mum and Dad resumes service once more. Term time may be over – fantastic – but now what to do with your stuff? If you’re lucky, Mum and Dad may be able to do the honours and collect your belongings – along with yourself, we hope.

For most, this is a luxury. And, for overseas students, an impossibility. What is needed here is student storage: a safe place to leave all your belongings until the fun starts all over again next term. However, student storage needs to be convenient, affordable and secure. We are aware of the tough existence students endure, so student storage has to be everything but. With 20 years of experience in the storage industry, Access Box Storage is the logical place to start.

Student storage doesn’t need to cost a pretty penny

We have already outlined the pretty penny students have to pay to get an education today, so the cost of student storage needs to be affordable. The clichéd dietary intake of the typical student may revolve around the thrifty culinary delights of baked beans and Super Noodles- we hope never in unison. Even Heston Blumenthal would struggle to pull this off. For many students, the reality may be a choice between such yummy options, and a night out. With the above on offer, it is maybe not as tough a decision to make as it first appears. Either way, for a student, a pound has to go a long way nowadays. So, why pay more for student storage than you have to?

With Access Box Storage you can pay by the box, and the boxes are completely free! It doesn’t get much better than that. All you have to do is order the amount of boxes you need, and let us know how long you want us to store them for you. Then, once term time starts again, simply request your boxes back. You only pay for the space you need, and for the time you need it for. Student storage doesn’t get any cheaper and convenient than that.

Convenient storage just a click away.

Let’s face it, when it comes to doing something, we all want to choose the easiest option. And with the next generation of students, this point is more valid than ever. For these millennial techno-experts everything has to be done at a touch of a screen, fully automated and completed now! Whether it’s swiping right for a date, or clicking through to order your favourite chow mein, everything is built with convenience in mind. At Access Box Storage, we follow this same ethos. We appreciate that student storage can be complicated, so we do the hard work for you: we deliver free boxes to you; we collect the boxes from you; and when you want your boxes returned we deliver them straight back to your front door. Imagine if Tinder could provide the same service! Besides providing you with a date, there isn’t much more we could do to make student storage more simple for you.

Student storage - the secure option

Now, we realise that while you’re off gallivanting during your break, you don’t want to be worrying about whether or not your pots and pans are safe and secure: “What if something were to happen to them? How will I ever recreate that baked bean masterpiece again?” We hear you say. Far from trivialising the situation, or perpetuating the baked bean cliché, we understand that security of your prized possessions is more than key - and we take that very seriously. If you are looking for student storage, there is no safer place than Access Box Storage. Your belongings are stored at our state-of-the-art facility, which boasts: 24 HR digital CCTV, fire detection systems and a fully fenced site which can only be accessed via a unique pin code. Think of it as a Fort Knox for pots and pans. Rest assured, there isn’t a more secure student storage option out there.

So, what are you waiting for? For the easiest, cheapest and most secure student storage call Access Box Storage today on 0203 866 4448. Or, if you want an even easier option than that, come and get a free quote here.

Let’s be honest, at one time or another, we have all looked up to the heavens and cried “Please, just give me some space”. Whether it is personal, or physical, space is a rare commodity these days. With population figures soaring, we increasingly find ourselves fighting over that precious place where we can relax and set our minds free.

For some, this may be a scenic spot in the local park. Box Storage, could be the answer to your prayers. The experts at creating space, our customers come to us to find a solution to their problems, and leave with complete spatial zen. So, who is on the look-out for a box storage company?

Londoners also have a reputation for moving around the capital - eternally seeking that new trendy area to call their home. These urban nomads travel light. There is no room for life’s necessities when you are this cool. And there is certainly no room at the rented accommodation they share with five other people, and the house cat called Bob.

Students

You may not believe it, but summer is coming. And when it arrives, you’ll have to decide whether or not you will be backpacking across Europe, or hopping from festival to festival for the next few months. Oh, how we envy you. Either way, you are unlikely to be taking the new microwave your parents brought you for your first year in halls. Or, perhaps you will? Who are we to question the love between a microwave and its owner?

However, should you decide your microwave is best suited to a safe and secure environment, rather than sitting beside you in a field whilst you listen to Coldplay, we have the perfect home for it. Stored safely at our CCTV monitored facility, your microwave can enjoy its own summer holiday with the rest of the appliances our customers have entrusted us with.

If you're searching for student storage, no other company understands the importance of keeping the things you love safe and sound until you want to be reunited with them again. P.S. We hope you realise we were only joking about taking your microwave along to a festival – we realise no microwave would be seen dead at a Coldplay gig.

Collectors, hoarders and people with lashings and lashings of memorabilia

There is a thin line between a “collector” and a “hoarder”. If you consider yourself to be a “collector”, we suspect your partner may think you belong in the other category. And, if you have found yourself victim to a mysterious “tidy-up” incident, we can almost guarantee it. However, we appreciate the hard work that goes into building a serious collection: the laborious hours trawling through eBay searching for that limited edition version, and fighting a stranger at your local car boot sale for that one piece you’ve been looking for your entire life.

So, when you’re running out of space at home, and you just can’t hide anymore from your partner in the shed at the bottom of the garden, where do you go from here? A box storage company is the simple answer. Carefully package your prized collection into one of our heavy-duty boxes (don’t be shy on the bubble wrap, we can provide this too), and we can collect it from you and safely store it away from those “tidy-up” incidents.

Wardrobe hoggers and fashionistas

If you are in a relationship, we can appreciate the wardrobe wars you have to endure just to get a spot for those new fancy trousers you brought last week. The general rule is you have half of the wardrobe each. So, why are you continually finding pyjamas and bras in your sock drawer? Someone’s not playing by the rules here! Similarly, if you consider yourself to be a bit of a fashionista - there is not a wardrobe in the land that can cater for your dazzling collection of trendy tit-bits.

It just can’t be done. Wellies and bikinis in the same space? What is this madness? Not even the hippest of hipsters could pull that look off. This is where a box storage company comes to the rescue. Separate those bikinis from your wellies. Give them pride of place they deserve in your wardrobe. During the summer, simply pack those wellies into one of our boxes and give them a safe home until you need them again. So when those drizzly months come rolling back in, request them back from us, and give them the opportunity to shine once more. Or, you could try your hand at setting that new welly-bikini look. Good luck with that one.

New Year’s resolution-makers

It’s a new year, it’s a new me. The common mantra we all hear muttered over the festive season. So, January 1st kicks in, along with our over abundant enthusiasm to turn over a new leaf: “This year I will lose that Christmas weight”, “I will get that six pack back” and “ I will run the London Marathon this year”. Easy now, let’s not get too carried away.

Whatever your goals, you need that essential sporting equipment to help you get there - obviously. The more money you spend, the more committed you are to a new year’s resolution - right? However, inevitably, we all know what happens next. Months later we start to get annoyed at having to move the rowing machine in the spare bedroom just to get to the cupboard. Or, worse still, the rowing machine is banished into exile at the back of the garage. If only people would realise, a rowing machine is for life, not just for Christmas.

Being the caring individual that you are, you cannot stand to part company with this precious machinery. After all, you did go through those arduous months of pain and suffering together. How callous would you be to say goodbye now? And you know the two of you will dance that merry dance of exercise once again. You’re just not sure when though? Rest assured, there is a solution.

Even though we are a box storage company, we do not just store boxes. We can cater for items from all walks of life. To see how we can help with the larger objects you have in your home, please start the process here and within a few simple clicks you will see a list of larger items you can store with us. We know you may not want to say goodbye forever to some of your possessions, so let us keep them safe and secure for you until you feel ready to take on the burn again.

All in all, there are a multitude of reasons for using a box storage company. However, reclaiming the space back in your life has to be the underlying motive. So, enter your postcode and get started today.  Spatial zen is just a click away.
